This guide explains how to create and save and Annotated Video to your private library. Annotated Videos can be edited to provide additional information or questions at any point in the video.
Creating an Annotated Video
- Click the My content link to go your dashboard, then select Add new content from the My content section.
- Select the Annotated Video content type

Enter the URL for the video you are adding, then click Import Video.
Don't have the video URL? Refer to YouTube's article on copying a video link, or Vimeo's article on direct links to video files.
- Optionally, edit the title and the description of the video which will have been populated based on the source if possible.
- A transcript can be uploaded in the form of an SRT file, and tags can be added to the video based on context, but neither are required to save.
- Agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy notice, the click Save Annotated video to save your work so far.
Adding Annotations
- Click the Edit annotated video button.
- Select Add annotation from the panel on the right.
- Enter a time for the Starting position and another for the Ending position.
- Enter an Annotation title.
- Optionally, you can enter descriptive text, upload an image to included with the annotation (requires alt text), add an link for additional information, and add tags.
- Click the Save annotation button.
When the video is played, the annotation you have created will be displayed on the right, and will be highlighted during the starting and ending times you have specified. The annotation can be edited via the pencil icon on the top right of the annotation card.
Adding questions
- Click the Edit annotated video button.
- Select Add question from the panel on the right.
- Enter a time for the Starting position
- If the question is part of a set, use the Question set order dropdown to determine where this question will be placed in the set.
- Enter a Question title.
- Enter a Question and potential Answers, using the color coded tabs to indicate the correct answers. Note that this is possible to require more than one correct answer.
- While it is not required, feedback can be provided for each of the answers individually.
- Optionally, you can upload an image to included with the question (requires alt text) and add tags.
- Click the Save question button.
The video will pause at the starting time you have specified so that the question can be answered. The question can be edited via the pencil icon on the top right of the question card.
