What subjects will I find in the LabXchange content library?
LabXchange is designed to help teach and learn about the life sciences and associated topics. Currently, you can learn about biological sciences, chemistry, physics, health science, global health, science & society, and the scientific process, as well as preparing for college, careers, graduate studies, and professional development.
How do I search the content library?
First, select a content type from the options provided above the results area, or leave "All" selected for the full range of content. Then, expand the search filters on the left by clicking the + symbol. This will allow you to select as many search filters as you want, and refine your search by subject area, background knowledge, duration (for videos), content source, and popular tags. As you click, the filters will automatically be applied to your search.
After clicking on the + symbol to expand the search filters under Subject Area, you can toggle the down/up arrows next to some of the broader science topics. For example, clicking on the down arrow next to "Biological Sciences" expands the search filters and allows you to further refine a search within more specific subject areas. If the subject area is not shown, you can also enter your subject area search term into the Subject Area search bar.
To remove a filter, toggle the filters off in the sidebar or click the x to the right of the filter name at the top of the search results. Select "clear all" to start your search over.
You can also use the search bar at the top of each page to search for content, people and organizations. Once you have selected Library at the top of the page you can limit your search to other users by selecting the People option, or search for specific organizations and collaborators by selecting Sources.
How is Background Knowledge defined?
