On LabXchange, mentorship is a way for you to get or offer advice and guidance on studies, research, and career. It is not intended as a way to get help with your homework, or academic tutoring.
Mentors and mentees can exchange messages and share learning content, either from the public LabXchange library or their private content library.
Are you looking to serve as a mentor?
If you are interested in serving as a mentor, make sure that Available to mentor is selected on your profile. We recommend that you write a short note to your potential mentees about specific areas of interest, or types of mentorship that you would like to offer. You can accept or reject any mentorship requests you receive.
You will see your mentees listed under Mentees on the Community page. From there, you can easily message them and assign content. If you need to withdraw from mentoring a user, just click Remove. You can then write a short note to explain why you are withdrawing your mentorship.
Are you looking for a mentor?
If you are interested in requesting mentorship, please answer the questions on your mentorship request thoughtfully. This will help your potential mentor decide if they are a good fit to offer the guidance you are looking for. You will be notified of their decision.
Once your mentor has accepted your request, you can easily message them and see the content they assign you under Mentors on the Community page.
If you want to end your menteeship/mentorship, click on Remove next to your mentor/mentee's profile photo. You can then write a short note and withdraw from the mentoring relationship.
